Regular Season Round 35: Leuven - Aalst 90-75

One of the most interesting games of round 35 was a derby match between two teams from Belgium. Ninth ranked Leuven Bears won against visiting Okapi Aalst (14-18) 90-75 . Leuven dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Okapi Aalst 's 20 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Leuven looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for center Mattias Palinckx (208-1997) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American forward Noah Baumann (198-1999, college: GCU) accounted for 21 points for the winning side. Bosnian forward Njegos Sikiras (205-1999, agency: PEPI SPORT) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Montenegrin Ivan Maras (207-1986) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Aalst in the defeat. Four Leuven and five Aalst players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leuven Bears (19-14) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Den Bosch. Aalst lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 18 games lost.
